Jersey DE loves ACC trip

Piscataway, N.J. defensive end Omar Savage made his first official visit this past weekend and came home ready to cancel a visit or two because he was so impressed.
“My visit to Maryland went really well,” said the 6-foot-4, 222-pounder. "I had a great time, the people there are cool and the city and area is fun. The campus is also really nice.”

Omar is set to visit Rutgers on Jan. 17 and Boston College on Jan. 24, but that is going to change.
“I’m going to cancel my BC trip, I just feel that I really don’t need it. I’m still going to visit Rutgers on Jan. 17 and I think I might visit Clemson now, but I don’t have a date set. If I do go to Clemson, they will be my third team and it should come down to just those three.”
Omar lead Picataway to a 12-0 record, a state championship and a final ranking of No. 2 in the state. He had 57 tackles, 20 for loss, three sacks and one fumble recovery. For his efforts he was named first team all state.
With more than a dozen offers in hand, Omar feels that he only needs a few visits to make a decision.
“I feel very good about Maryland since my visit. I’ve always liked Rutgers and feel comfortable every time I go there. I just might want to visit Clemson to give them a chance, but those three are my top choices.”
