Jersey DB favors Purdue

Winslow Township, N.J. defensive back Todshon Jones had just landed at the airport after a visit to Minnesota Sunday night and said things went well, but another Big Ten school is out front for his services.
"I would say Purdue is the leader right now," the 6-foot-2, 165-pound cornerback said. "I really liked coach (Joe) Tiller when we talked and the players and the system. I liked they way they explained my role and I had a great visit (Dec. 3). A lot of players from South Jersey have gone there. Purdue is in front."

However, no firm decision has been made and Jones said he will not make one until sometime in January.
"I might take another visit," Jones said. "I'm still thinking about it and I'm not sure who it would be."
Jones has already visited North Carolina (Nov. 19), Purdue and now Minnesota."
"It was nice (the visit to Minnesota)," Jones said. "They have good coaches and good people."
Purdue and North Carolina made in-home visits last week as well.
Jones, who has a 4.5- second time in the 40-yard dash, said schools are talking to him about playing cornerback. He certainly showed plenty of skill last season at Winslow Township. He had nine interceptions and returned three for touchdowns. He actually threw for three touchdowns and caught six, too.
For now, he's taking things slow.
"Recruiting has been about what I expected," Jones said. "I took this visit by myself and saw what I needed to see. I'm still thinking about it, but Purdue has been the best so far."
