It was only a matter of time before the offers would come for one of New Jersey's top players. Anthony Scirrotto of West Deptford, N.J. is a super athlete with good size and excellent football skills. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound quarterback/safety is mainly being recruited for defense and has received his first two offers.
"Wisconsin and Stanford have offered me as a safety. It was great to get those offers and now I'm hoping other schools will follow."
Some of those other schools Scirrotto is talking about are Boston College, Penn State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame.
"Those schools along with Stanford and Wisconsin are my favorites right now."
They have all been in to his school recently along with others such as Kentucky, Indiana, Princeton and many others.
"It's really going well right now. So many schools have come in and are requesting film and talking to my coach. I'm told that I have a few other offers on the way, but I don't want to say anything until they are here officially."
Last season he threw for 949 yards and 12 touchdowns and ran for another 507 yards and 10 touchdowns. As a safety, playing part time, Scirrotto made 66 tackles and had six interceptions. As a sophomore, he had 100 tackles with 12 interceptions.
