Jennings on the road this weekend

Pinson (Ala.) Pinson Valley athlete Desmond Jennings is one of the best football players in the state of Alabama, period. However, due to the fact that he could be a first round draft pick in baseball, some college coaches have showed away from offering him. This weekend he'll be taking his first official visit.

"I am going to be taking an official visit to Alabama this weekend," Jennings said. "I have been there a bunch of times so I know what it's all about, but I've never been on any kind of official visit before so I think it will a lot of fun."

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Jennings runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds. He split his time between quarterback, wide receiver and safety during his junior and senior seasons.

"Alabama is probably my favorite right now, but they have not offered me yet," Jennings said. "I also like Georgia a good bit, but it doesn't look like they are going to offer me either. I have been talking to some junior colleges that tell me if I come there for two years that I will get a scholarship to a big school after that.'

Jennings has not qualified as of yet and is also likely to be drafted highly in this year's major league baseball draft.
