Jenkins ready for New Mexico

Slipping under the radar happens from time to time even when you put up monster stats like outside linebacker/safety prospect Jerome Jenkins, it's even harder to believe.
Nonetheless, his senior season that included 71 tackles and five sacks earned him not only all-district honors but scholarship offers as well. He accepted a New Mexico offer and signed with them in December.

Now on campus, coach Mike Ferrell says that the Mountain West team is getting a good one.
"He actually just had left not too long ago and he's a great player," Ferrell said. "I think he really showed off what he could do early on and that helped him pickup the interest. They're actually moving him to safety where he'll play in college and I think he'll do very well there."
Jenkins, rated a two-star prospect, posted good numbers at the NIKE Football Training Camp in Fort Worth with a 4.31-second shuttle time.
