College coaches are making their way to Ennis, Texas to check out several players. Anthony Jenkins has begun to impress college coaches with his performances this spring and is picking up more attention all the time.

"Anthony's stock has been really on the rise lately," Ennis coach Sam Harrell said. "Every workout this spring we have had a college coach at from one place or another. And at each of those workouts he has done well. He has had a real good spring."
A good enough spring for the 6-foot, 180-pound athlete to begin to pile up scholarship offers.
"Several have offered him," Harrell said. "For sure, off the top of my head, K-State, Wisconsin, Tulane, TCU, Texas Tech and Boston College have offered him scholarships. I know that it is more, but that's all I can think of right now."
Jenkins will stand out on both sides of the ball for Ennis in 2003.
"He is getting a lot more looks right now as a receiver," Harrell said. "But, some of that is because he hasn't played much defense yet. He will do more of that this year. I'd probably classify him as an athlete, because he is truly that. He is the best athlete on our team. A school could put him at corner, safety or wide receiver and have themselves a can't miss-type of kid."
