Jenkins excited for 1st offer
We just talked with Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde running back Daniel Jenkins last week and the athlete said he was eagerly awaiting his first scholarship offer. That offer came to Jenkins this past weekend.
Jenkins, 5-9, 170 pounds is a two time all-league performer and has been one of the areas top backs since his sophomore season. As a junior, Jenkins rushed for 1,014 yards and 15 touchdowns on only 111 carries and was recently named RB MVP at the SoCal NIKE Camp.

As for his first offer, it came from a school who hadn't really shown much interest in Jenkins up to this point.
"Arizona offered me," Jenkins said. "They offered both me and our linebacker, Eric Martin. I was excited because it's always good to get that first offer and I was surprised as well because Arizona hadn't been recruiting me up to this point.
"Getting that first offer is a big deal because it kind of shows your legitimate and I think it could open the door for other schools to step up and offer now too. Arizona is a big time program and I plan to take my first official visit there since they were my first offer. I really like them a lot and now I'm anxious to see how it affects the rest of my recruitment."
