Destrehan, La., three-star quarterback Jordan Jefferson missed most of his junior season with an injury and most schools were waiting to see how he did as a senior before they offered him. But the 6-foot-4, 200-pounder has had a great start to his senior season and it looks like schools are taking notice, too.
"Last game I was 14 for 26 for 250 yards and two touchdowns," he said. "We're 2-0 right now. Right now we think we're going to win another state championship, nothing less."
Jefferson, who is ranked as the No. 13 player in Louisiana, said he's been getting plenty of calls from both SEC and ACC programs.
"It's mainly the SEC, schools like Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, and then Georgia Tech and Miami out of the ACC have been talking to me," he said. "Arizona said they want to see me play a couple of games this year and then they might offer."
"I haven't set up any visits yet. I'm going to wait until after my football season. I'm leaving my options open right now. Just to see what schools are going to offer."
Jefferson does have plans to take some unofficial visits this fall to LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia Tech and Miami. When it does come time to make a decision, Jefferson has a few things in mind the perfect school must have.
"Academics is a big key for me," Jefferson said. "A good football program is also important. I'm also going to look at the type of offense they run, their potential as a team and good coaches."
