Jefferson denies rumors
A newspaper story this morning had superstar linebacker Wes Jefferson committed to Maryland. However, that's news to the nation's No. 2 inside linebacker.
"I didn't commit to anyone," said Jefferson, who called from his cell phone at school. "I haven't told one coach where I'm going yet and I don't plan on telling anyone until next Wednesday. That story is completely wrong."

Jefferson, a 6-foot-2, 230-pounder with more than 50 offers, insists it's still an open competition between three teams.
"Maryland is in there along with Ohio State and Miami," he said. "I'm a little bit upset about that newspaper story because now I have everyone calling me, including coaches. They didn't quote me but you can -- I haven't committed to anybody."
