JC WR/RB could stay in Big 12 country

Highland (Kan.) Community College running back Lamont Moore could have the opportunity to return to the school he signed with out of high school.
"I know he went to NEO last year after high school," Highland coach Marty Allen said. "He got along fairly well there last fall. But he called K-State and told them he wanted to go somewhere else. So they pointed him in this direction."

Moore, a 6-foot, 190-pound running back/wide receiver, signed with Kansas State out of Owasso, Okla. as part of the Wildcats' 2001 recruiting class.
Despite the familiarity with the Wildcat program, Moore may not be headed back to Manhattan.
"They helped him get to NEO," Allen said. "Then they helped him get here when he wanted to leave NEO. They didn't tell me that he was headed back there. But they also didn't tell me he was not wanted."
As for Moore's thoughts on where he's headed after the 2002 season, Allen indicated Moore wasn't tipping his hand.
"He isn't telling us what he's doing, yet," Allen said. "He will keep us up to date on what schools are contacting him, but to this point he hasn't said 'I am going to K-State again' or anything like that."
Moore will see some time at both wide out and running back for Highland this year.
"He's got some talent," Allen said. "We'll find a way to get him on the field. He'll play both spots for us at different times during the games."
