Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College offensive lineman Ryan Lilja is hearing from several Big 12 schools, but is still waiting for the first scholarship offer to be put on the table.
"I get several calls a week," Lilja said. "I'ver heard from Kansas, Iowa State, Houston, Rutgers, Louisiana Tech and Kansas State. K-State called last night for the first time."
At this time Lilja lists no team ahead on his list. "I've always been a K-State fan, so I have my eye on what they are doing up there. I grew up a fan of them and my brother goes to school there."
Lilja and his Red Raven teammates are having a good season. "We've lost a couple tough games so far. We lost to both Garden City and Butler, but both games were closer than everyone thought they'd be. We play Fort Scott this week and they just knocked off Garden when Garden was number one."
Lilja thinks the new offensive system coach Jeff Leiker has put in place will help him. "It is a more 'pro-style' attack and more similar to what colleges run. It can only help me as a player."
