JC DB headed northwest

Junior college standout defensive back Dwayne Patterson (6-2, 195, 4.3) from Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Chaffey College told Rivals.com last week that a decision on where he would attend school was nearing. He was a man of his word and he has made his college choice.
"I always felt that Washington State and UTEP were the two schools that I wanted to go to," Patterson said. "I chose Washington State because I felt a little more comfortable in the Washington area."

"I also have two former teammates playing for Washington State and that helped my decision," Patterson said. "The two players are (DB) Tyron Brackenridge and (WR) Greg Prator, both are seeing playing time.
"It is down to Washington State and UTEP," Patterson said. "I should make up my mind by the end of this week."
Another small reason that helped Patterson chose Washington State in how they have developed defensive backs in recent years. The Cougars have done a nice job sending their defensive backs to the NFL.
Patterson will be heading up to Pullman in June and has three years to play two.
Patterson was selected first-team all-conference after he racked up 75 tackles, three interceptions, three fumbles and one fumble recovery. He took his fumble recovery back for a touchdown.
