Jarvis ready to get back on the field

Pittsburgh Central Catholic two-star running back Eugene Jarvis, who is 5-foot-5 and 159 pounds, is the ultimate all-purpose back. But he’s been the ultimate all-purpose back on the shelf for the last four weeks because of a hamstring injury.
“I suited up last week in the playoffs, but they were holding me back,” he said. “Honestly, it’s killing me not being able to be out there. I’m going to be out there this Friday night. We’re up against Bethel Park.”

When he was on the field, Jarvis was causing damage. He rushed for more than 1,100 yards in his first five games and racked up double-digit touchdowns. He now hopes that he can get back out there and lead his team to a state championship.
In the mean time, Jarvis is getting serious about his college future. He has offers from West Virginia, Akron, Kent and Bowling Green. He lists WVU, Iowa, Akron and Kent as the schools he’s most likely to visit.
“Iowa hasn’t offered me yet, but they’re calling me once a week,” he said. “I think they’re on the verge of offering me, but at this point I’m most worried about getting on the field.”
