Jarvis impressive at summer camps

Park Ridge (Ill.) Maine South 2017 offensive lineman Kevin Jarvis capped his summer college camp tour with a stop at Ohio State's Friday Night Lights in late July.

"They said I did very well," Jarvis said. "I pretty much did everything I had to do in-person, they just want to see a game or two and if everything looks good they'll offer."
The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Jarvis worked at both guard and tackle for Ohio State, and could project to either position in college.
"I do not have a preference - I can play either/or," Jarvis said. "I think Ohio State likes me as a guard."
Jarvis generated interested from another Big Ten school following a summer satellite camp close to his hometown.
"I went to an Iowa camp that they ran at Lake Forest High School and that was pretty good," Jarvis said. "They said they really liked what they saw and were going to keep in touch with my head coach."
Neither Iowa nor Ohio State has offered Jarvis yet, but he does hold three offers from Illinois, Rutgers and Toledo. The offer from Illinois was his most recent.
"It was a great offer," Jarvis said. "I was very excited when it happened because it is in-state and everything like that. I have a few cousins who went there. I am going to look at them very thoroughly and am very excited about the program."
The offer from Rutgers was the second to arrive and came during the Spring Evaluation Period before his sophomore year ended.
"They came to a speed training workout that we host for colleges to come look at us," Jarvis said. "They liked what they saw from me, so they decided to offer me. It was huge for me because I had never talked to anyone at the school. I am really excited about Rutgers."
At this time Jarvis has not scheduled any fall game visits, but he said Ohio State and Illinois trips were possible. Rutgers is a trip he would have to schedule well in advance.
"I think getting out there might be a little bit of an issue with my parents' work schedule, but I definitely want to come out to a game eventually," he said.
