Jarrett one to watch in 08

One player we were excited to see at the NIKE Combine in Long Beach this past weekend was San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills defensive lineman Jamaar Jarrett. Jarrett is easily among the top defensive line prospect in the West region for the class of 2008 and could play just about anywhere on the line in college.
Jarrett earned all-state underclass honors following his sophomore year and earned all-area honors this past season. At 6-6, 238 pounds, the lineman has a great frame and although he plays rush end right now, he could easily bulk up in to a tackle by the time he hits the college scene.

At the NIKE combine in Long Beach this past weekend, Jarrett clocked a 5.22 in the 40, did 24 reps on the bench and jumped 25 inches in the vertical. All very solid numbers across the board, especially for this time of the year when most of the athletes have yet to start their training programs.
On the recruiting front, Jarrett has three offers on the table and has three schools at the top of his board as well.
"I have offers from Colorado, Arizona and Mississippi," Jarrett said. "UCLA, USC and Colorado are my favorites right now. I'm going to UCLA's Junior Day this weekend but don't know what other team camps or Junior Days I'll be attending.
"I don't have any plans to commit early right now. I would like to take my trips and see what else is out there before I make my decision."
