Jarren Brown returns from his first official

Springdale (Md.) Flowers running back Jarren Brown took his first official visit over the weekend. The 5-foot-8, 179-pounder headed to the Empire State to check out Syracuse.
"It went really well, I really liked that place," he said. "I got there Friday night. On Saturday I participated in the walk before the game, went to the Carrier Dome and then afterwards I went down to the locker room and met some of the players.

"That night I met up with the coaches and then on Sunday I had one-on-one meetings with them some more and checked out the facilities."
First off, what did Brown think of the game?
"The game was a lot of fun and it was exciting, especially at the beginning when Syracuse was up 14-0 on Rutgers," he said. "Later in the game it got out of hand and the crowd started to leave, but that didn't deter me at all. It was real loud and electrifying early on.
"I think they are a good team, they're just young. The running back broke a few runs and I thought the offensive line did a good job too."
Brown was hosted by two fellow Maryland prospects, Ryan Bartholomew and Anthony Perkins.
"It was a lot of fun with those guys," he said. "They were just making jokes about the coaches and stuff. It was fun."
The Maryland tailback finished by talking about his conversation with the coaches before he left.
"I meeting with them went really well," he said. "The running back coach went over a couple drills and plays from Saturday's game. Then I talked to coach Robinson. He talked about how their program is in the rebuilding stage and he felt confident about the program. He thinks they'll turn it around. Overall, it was a great experience."
Next up for Brown is a second official this week to Navy.
"I think I'm going on my official up there," he said. "I know each school is different and I just want to see what it's like. I have no plan of deciding after this visit. I'm going to commit after the season and take my other officials."
