THE LATEST: Jamious Griffin helped Rome (Ga.) win a state title in 2016, then he hit the road to camp at Auburn, Clemson, Ole Miss and Virginia Tech over the summer. While in Oxford (Miss.) he picked up an offer and he holds around 15 total at this time.

The 5-foot-10, 192 pound junior running back is not close to committing, but a couple of schools have jumped out to him.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: "I have not visited either school, but I like South Carolina and Cincinnati a lot right now," said Griffin. "I have a lot of schools interested in me, so I am looking around, but those two do stand out."

GAMECOCKS LIKE GEORGIA RB: "South Carolina has shown me a lot of interest and since they came to the school to see me last year, they have been on me hard. They believe in me, they think I can be a great back for them and I want to take a visit up there. I want to see their facilities and just what the people are like there. I know I like their coaches."

BEARCATS SHOWING LOVE: "The coaches at Cincinnati really show me a lot of love and attention. They are always on me on Twitter and they seem to really like me. I talk to coach [Gino] Guidugli (running backs) and he likes me a lot. I want to see what it is like up there. They are talking with my dad a lot too, so the attention means a lot to me. I like their fans too."

TEAM OVER RECRUITING: "I just want to be patient. I know it will all play out in the end. I am focused on high school football and just letting recruiting play out. My dad helps me with it and I am not really thinking about it too much right now."

RIVALS REACTION: Griffin is in no rush to make a decision, and in this interview, he did not come out and name Cincinnati and South Carolina as his "top two" per se, but just two schools that really stand out in his mind at this time. He is going to take in some games this fall, then get out in 2018 for some crucial visits before he makes his decision. He wants to know that he is important to a coaching staff and that he has a role in their offense.
