James considering official visit dates
With the summer winding down, Niles (Ill.) Notre Dame running back Chris James has started to consider when he may take official visits to his top schools.

"I am trying my best to set one up for Pittsburgh when they play Florida State on Sept. 2," James said. "I am planning on that to be my first official, but I am not 100 percent sure yet. Me and my grandma have talked about it from time to time, but I will probably talk to her [this week] and see if that is okay."
Pittsburgh has appeared in every version of James' top group since the spring, and they remain among his favorites entering the fall.
"Pittsburgh, Tennessee and Michigan State are higher on the list, but I am still going to give other [teams] a look," he said. "I am still kind of open to Wisconsin."
Iowa is another school that appeared on James' list earlier in the summer. He had hoped to visit Iowa City in July, but was unable to make the trip.
"I never got the chance and I'm not sure if I will try to get that done before I start taking my officials," he said.
Assuming the trip to Pittsburgh gets set for early September, James plans to follow up with official visits to Michigan State and Tennessee. He has looked at both teams' schedules and identified potential official visit dates.
"I know for Tennessee I am looking at the Georgia game [Oct. 5] because I see that a lot of their recruits are going down that week," he said. "Michigan State, they play Michigan at home [Nov. 2], so that would be a great game to go to."
In the meantime, James is preparing for an encore to his 2012 season when he rushed for 2,094 yards and 29 touchdowns.
"I think our line should be ready to go," James said. "These are guys I have been with for four years, so we have the chemistry down. We're going to play for each other, and my main goal this year is to lead my team, get to State and win it."
