James and Neal NC State bound

Wilmington (N.C.) Ashley wide receiver Geron James is waiting for more offers to roll in provided he can improve his SAT scores in the coming months. James, a 6-foot-4, 175-pound prospect hold offers from Maryland and Virginia Tech, but would likely commit to a different school in the ACC if offered.
“Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, and Virginia Tech are my three favorites, but if North Carolina State offered I’d likely commit right then and there,” explained James. “State is waiting to see if I can raise my SAT scores above 900. I only got a 780 on my first attempt, but will re-take the exam in a few weeks.”

What does James like about the Wolfpack?
“I like the strong program that they are building there and the coaching staff is awesome,” James admitted. “They treat me very well every time up I’m there and they are close to home.”
James maintains he is not too focused on the recruiting process at the moment, but only on the season at hand. In Ashley’s 2004 opener, James shined on the field despite seeing his team suffer a one-point defeat in the closing seconds.
“I had five or six receptions for over 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns,” James said. “I hope to break 1,000 yards receiving this season and average two touchdowns a game.”
The wideout combination of James and teammate Levin Neal should wreak havoc on opposing defense this fall.
“Levin and I would like to play at the same school in college,” James explained. “Right now, he is waiting to see if he gets offered by any of the Florida schools. If he does, he’ll commit to whichever one offers first. Otherwise, I think we’ll both go to North Carolina State together.”
