Jai Miller reportedly drew an emotional response with his college
announcement Monday.
Miller (6-4, 195, 4.55) wore Alabama attire to his
press conference at the school gym, but shed the Crimson Tide apparel to reveal
Stanford gear and announced he'd be signing with the Cardinal on Wednesday.
He had also been considering Auburn, LSU and Georgia Tech.
A three-year starter, Miller played quarterback and
safety in high school. As a senior, he passed for 1,268 yards and 14 touchdowns
and rushed for another 812 yards and seven touchdowns on 64 carries (12.7 yards
per carry). He accounted for all but two of Selma’s touchdowns. On defense,
Miller tallied 70 tackles, 11 pass breakups and six interceptions.
He is also a standout on the basketball team, averaging 19 points, nine
rebounds, six assists and five steals per game. He plans to play both sports at
Stanford.
