Jacobs ready to trim list

Seth Jacobs has been taking it easy with recruiting in the last week or so but it's about to pick up again for the Arroyo Grande, Calif., outside linebacker because he's visiting Cal on July 30 and expects to narrow his list to five soon.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound four-star prospect said he's really looking forward to his trip to Berkeley especially because he's heard such good things about the Cal program and now wants to see it for himself.

"I still have to talk to the coaches about that visit," Jacobs said. "I'm going to visit them and I'm working on my top five and I should probably have that done in the next couple weeks.
"I'm really looking forward to (the trip to Cal). I've heard good things about the place and I just need to get a feel for it. I want to see if I like it just as much."
Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Cal, Colorado, Northwestern, Oregon, Oregon State, SMU, UCLA, Washington and Washington State have offered Jacobs, who looked good earlier this summer at the B2G Elite Camp.
Jacobs isn't giving any hints on which programs will make his cut to five but it's expected numerous Pac-12 schools will remain in the mix.
"It's falling together," Jacobs said. "I'm just talking it over with my family and figuring out what's best for me. I'm just trying to see what's best for my future and my collegiate career."
Rivals.com rates Jacobs as the No. 24 outside linebacker in the 2012 class and No. 38 in the California state rankings.
