Jacksonville WR attends FSU-UVA

Jacksonville (Fla.) Wolfson wide receiver Rod Owens is a prospect that has just popped up on the radar of some scouts, but he is a name that fans of many major schools are going to become very familiar with.
“I went to the Florida State-Virginia game this weekend,” Owens said. “It was really a great atmosphere and it was a really exciting game. The fans were really into the game and it was just a good overall experience for me.”

The 6-foot-0, 170-pound wide receiver runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds, has a 240-pound bench press and 415-pound squat.
“I got to talk to the wide receivers coach Bowden while I was at the game this weekend,” Owens said. “I will probably go to a game this weekend, I just do not know where yet. I have an official visit set up to Maryland for December 10.”
As a junior Owens nabbed 53 receptions for 1,073 yards and 12 touchdowns and was named all-conference and all-state.
“Right now Florida State, Florida, Maryland, South Carolina and Tennessee are all pretty equal as my top five,” Owens said. “I am still listening to other people and someone else could come in, this isn’t final.”
