Jacksonville DE on the verge of more offers

Jacksonville (Fla.) The Bolles School defensive end John Russell is a prospect that few have been talking about as one of the top defensive lineman in North Florida, but perhaps they should take a deeper look.
“I have offers now from Clemson, Louisville and Central Florida,” Russell said. “Tennessee has been recruiting me really hard lately. They are waiting to see my senior film right now, but they are looking at me really hard. Wake Forest and Georgia Tech have also been calling regularly.”

Russell certainly has all the credentials of a college defensive lineman. He stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs 245 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.8 seconds.
“I have not been able to go to any games so far this year because everything with the season has been so hectic,” Russell said. “I know that I want to try to make games at Tennessee, Clemson and Wake Forest at some point this year. I really want to try to see as many places as I can.”
Russell grew up in Tifton, Georgia and still calls that home, though he boards at The Bolles School, when school is in session. As a junior Russell racked up 103 total tackles, 10 sacks and recovered two fumbles. He earned all-first Coast, all-region and all-satilla honors as a junior.
“I have not set up any official visits yet,” Russell said. “I am still talking to coaches and checking my schedule right now to see when is best. I want to get a really good feel for a school and see what all is out there before I decide.”
