Lamar Jackson is headed to The Opening later this week and then the four-star defensive back has a huge visit coming up.

The Elk Grove (Calif.) Franklin standout is taking a trip to Alabama and he has a good deal of confidence that the Crimson Tide could offer once he gets to Tuscaloosa.
"It's been a dead period so I haven't been talking to any schools and stuff like that but after The Opening I'm going to be going to Alabama next week with one of my 7-on-7 coaches," Jackson said.
"I'm going to try to take as many trips as possible by the end of the summer."
Before Jackson gets too serious about the Crimson Tide, he wants to check out the campus, talk to the coaches and get that offer.
Alabama would definitely be a major one but Jackson still plans to take his time with the whole recruiting process.
"I feel like once I go they told me I'm going to get my offer so that's going to be big," Jackson said. "That's going to be great to be around the place. I want to see the campus and it's going to be great to be around (Nick) Saban and the other coaches.
"It all depends on how it is but if they offer me it's going to be a big one."
USC and UCLA still look the best in his recruitment but Jackson said recently that Oregon and now Michigan have stepped it up. Other than his visit to Alabama, the four-star defensive back is planning another round of trips as well before heading back to school.
"I'm going to try to get up to Oregon and Oregon State and I'm going to try to get to Washington and Arizona as well," Jackson said. "I'm going to go on some more visits because I've been kind of slacking on the visits."
