Jackson looking at more summer visits

Detroit (Mich.) Renaissance offensive tackle Alaric Jackson has visited several of the 14 schools that have offered him a scholarship, but he's trying to get out and see more.
"I am going to try to get out to Cincinnati, Illinois, Rutgers, Purdue and maybe some other ones as well," Jackson said.

The 6-foot-7, 285-pound Jackson saw many of those coaching staffs at the Sound Mind Sound Body Camp last month, and spoke specifically with Illinois, Indiana and Rutgers.
"They said I was very athletic for my size," Jackson said. "They said to gain weight, because I am kind of slim at the offensive line."
Even if Jackson is able to visit more schools this summer, the three-star offensive tackle prospect does not plan to make a decision until he is able to take official visits.
"I don't have any favorites right now. I'll make (a list) during the season of my top teams," he said. "I feel I have a good relationship with Michigan State, Illinois, Iowa, Cincinnati, Purdue and Rutgers."
One of the attractions at Iowa is that Jackson is close with Hawkeye defensive end commit Cedrick Lattimore.
"We've played basketball together since we were like five," Jackson said. "He said it is a great school, the staff is like family and since Iowa has no NFL team, all the fans are all about Iowa (football). He said it is a great opportunity for him."
Jackson played his first year of varsity football in 2014 after starting his high school career focused on the basketball court. He is now ranked as the No. 58 offensive tackle and the No. 18 player in the state of Michigan for the 2016 class.
