Jackson drawing interest from coast-to-coast

Houston (Texas) Westside running back R.J. Jackson is the player schools come to see when they come to coach Bill Wilson’s office. But he is just one of several on the team.
“R.J. is the No. 1 guy for us right now,” Wilson said. “Schools come from all over to see him and his teammates. We have a lot of guys getting recruited and some of them are guys who were found when a school came to see R.J.”

The list of schools with offers extended is a long one.
“He has offers from schools all across the country,” the coach said. “The list will only continue to grow too. Miami was here the other day and he was very excited about seeing them here. He’s being very nice and treating each school that comes by with a lot of respect.”
The spring is giving the 6-foot, 197-pound Jackson the chance to improve his game.
“He is working out at running back, wide receiver and cornerback for us,” Wilson said. “He is using the spring to improve his game a little bit so he can have a good year this fall.”
Wilson believes his standout running back hopes to have a decision before the fall season begins.
“I think he plans to have the decision done before the summer is over. He wants to be able to focus on his final year of high school and enjoy it. I’ll be excited to have him be able to sit down and have it over with.”
