Jackson and Wilson visit the Midwest

Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely quarterback Carlton Jackson , a 6-foot-3 and 190 pounder, and offensive line teammate Ronnie Wilson (pictured), a 6-foot-4 and 331 pounder, were outstanding during their junior seasons. In fact the two have been excellent since when they were sophomores. That season Ely finished with a 14-1 record including a state championship.
The two talented Floridians headed north and were in Ohio at the end of last week.

"We were at the Ohio State camp," Jackson said. "I got a few offers up there."
"The head coach from Akron offered. And (wide receivers) Coach (Darrell) Hazell from Ohio State said they were going to offer. I talked to Coach (Jim) Tressel a little. He said he was really interested in me, but he didn't offer me."
"I played wide receiver and quarterback at the camp. Ohio State is recruiting me as an athlete. Akron as a quarterback."
"I'm definitely interested in Ohio State and Akron. And North Carolina State, and Iowa and Iowa State. And Miami of Ohio."
"Northwestern was the first school to offer."
"From those schools I like Ohio State best. I liked the area. I liked the facilities and the coaches. I liked everything."
"I plan on graduating early, so I'll decide in December."
Wilson, one of the top offensive line prospects in the Sunshine State, was also quite impressed with Ohio State. Among the schools on his list are Ohio State, Florida, Michigan, Pitt, North Carolina State, Miami, and Oklahoma.
