Jack of all trades

Branden Smith will be a jack of all trades this season for Atlanta (Ga.) Washington High School. Smith, 5-11 and 171 pounds, is the No. 3 rated cornerback prospect in the nation and a member of the Rivals100 (No. 27). Once again this season he will play quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and return kicks as well as play cornerback.
"I am playing everywhere," Smith said. "I just want to get the ball in my hands as much as possible because I will make something happens. I am very excited about this season."

In regards to recruiting, Smith says he's still open and won't begin to narrow things down for at least a month, maybe longer. In the meantime, he will make sure he gets out around the South to some of the big games in the SEC and ACC.
"Honestly, right now I am not thinking about recruiting. My focus is on football. All that (recruiting) will come later. I am just trying to be patient with the process. I hope to have a top five sometime in the middle of the season and make a decision in January.
"I plan on going to some games that are close to home. I want to check out Florida, FSU, Georgia, Auburn, Clemson, LSU and others."
So, is that a hint at what schools Smith is really interested in?
"No, it's just some good teams that are relatively close to home."
Washington opens up their season on Saturday when they play Hiram High School.
