Iwuagwu drawing interest

Houston (Texas) Westfield offensive lineman Cordel Iwuagwu stands in at 6-foot-3 and 277-pounds. He is physical, he is gritty, and he is athletic and technical.
In 2013, he was also a member of an offensive line group which paved the way for over 3,500 yards of rushing offense, a district title, and a 13-1 overall record. It was a good year.

"We were just doing what we were taught," Iwuagwu said. "Being alongside my brothers, the other o-linemen, we worked real hard to get where we were and we felt we deserved to win every game. We wouldn't let anyone stop us."
There are plenty of reasons Westfield felt they deserved to win and were not going to be stopped.
"Every play, every down, we looked back on it like we could have done better," Iwuagwu said. "So basically this fall we had someone over our shoulder and everything we did we had someone calling us. Every play we had someone telling us what we're doing wrong and what we're doing right."
Iwuagwu has attracted the interest of college coaches. Oklahoma, Maryland, and Houston have established communication, and when it comes to the recruiting process there is one program which has caught his attention.
"You could say OU right now," Iwuagwu said. "Right now they have offered my strong tackle Toby Weathersby and it would be great to play next to him on the next level."
Growing up, he admits he was a fan of another program.
"I always liked Miami," Iwuagwu said. "What they stand for and the legacy they have built over there is something I always looked up to."
He does not report any offers at this time, and does not have any visits scheduled. For now he is just working out and he is preparing to take his SAT test.
