Ivy still waiting on that first offer

East St. Louis (Ill.) quarterback Lamontiez Ivy has the stats, has the size and has the interest from college coaches, but what he is short on is scholarship offers. The 6-3, 225-pound signal caller has yet to received his first scholarship offer, but could be getting close to ending the drought.
"It's a little frustrating because the offers will help me narrow down my choices," Ivy said. "I talk to a lot of people, but I don't know about offers yet. I'm supposed to be getting an offer from KU [Kansas]. They said they would once my film got there."

The coach Ivy has been in closest contact with at Kansas is assistant Reggie Mitchell, who has given him positive feedback on what they have seen from him thus far.
"He just told me my all-around game was impressive," Ivy said.
Ivy is not sure when he will be able to get out to Kansas to see the Jayhawks for himself, but he has been to Illinois already and has at least two visit destinations planned for Aprul
"I'm supposed to go to Indiana and Kentucky next month," Ivy said. "The Indiana [visit] will be for their spring game.
Ivy plans to raise his recruiting stock by attending camps at Texas and Ohio State this spring. He is hoping to generate interest from a few particular schools.
"I want to hear more from Arkansas and I want to get Oregon and Oklahoma interest," Ivy said. "Arkansas runs the pro-style, which is the same thing we run."
As a junior, Ivy accounted for 1,700 passing yards and over 20 touchdowns. He holds a 2.9 GPA in the classroom.
