Ivey has a favorite

Mebane (N.C.) Eastern Alamance athlete Lamar Ivey has taken one visit in the past few weeks. The 6-foot-1, 182-pounder is heading to another school coming up this week for a visit. Does he have any favorites?
"Since my trip to Georgia Tech in early June, I went to North Carolina's camp," he said. "It was pretty good. I worked out as a cornerback there and got to meet the defensive back coach. He was telling me that I was what they were looking for and that they needed height at the cornerback position.

"They talked about offering me, but since I've only played quarterback in high school they want to see me during the season and then that's when they'd offer."
Ivey plans to head to one of his three offers later this week, East Carolina.
"I'm going there on the 23rd or 24th," he said. "I just want to get a look at the campus since they've already offered. I want to meet all the coaches."
Ivey holds offers from West Virginia and VMI as well.
Does Ivey favor anyone?
"Right now I really like East Carolina," he said. "It's not too close to home and not too far away. They have a couple guys I used to play with on their team too."
One other school showing interest regularly is Wake Forest.
"They've been recruiting me for awhile," he stated. "I didn't get a chance to make it up to their camp. They are keeping an eye on me."
