Its the important things for Holt

Encino (Calif.) Crespi defensive end/receiver D.J. Holt was running track this spring, but then he decided he had more important stuff to focus on.
"I stopped running track because I wanted to get ready for the combines, camps, work out with my teammates and also work on keeping my grades up," Holt, who is 6-foot and 241 pounds, said.

It sounds like the CIF Section X defensive player of the year has his priorities right. Holt has plans on going to college to play major college football and to get there he needs to continue to get better physically and academically.
"If I want to impress coaches at things like the NIKE Camp, then I need to ready physically," he said. "I'm going next weekend the one at Stanford, and I have been working really hard and preparing for it. Also, by not running track, I can be around my teammates and also prepare for the SAT on June 1."
Holt holds one offer from Nevada. He said he's already gotten calls from Fresno State, Washington State and Arizona State.
"All of them impressed me," he said. "They were telling me about their program and that they like my style of play. They all said they could see me playing in their program. They wanted me to take the SAT first before they could offer me.
"Most of them were saying they could see me on both sides of the ball, kind of like an tight end/H-back type player. They also could see me at outside linebacker or defensive end."
And with time to work on those football skills this spring and summer, he'll be ready for the challenge no matter what position he ends up at in college.
