Its down to five for nations top player
Palestine, Texas, running back Adrian Peterson, who is the nation’s top player is officially down to five teams. After already visiting Arkansas and UCLA, it now officially looks like there is little doubt the top player in Texas is leaving the state and heading elsewhere.
“We’re not going anywhere this weekend,” said Peterson’s family friend and recruiting mentor Steve Eudey. “We talked things over with him and his parents the other night and he’s set up his final three visits. He’s going to USC on December 5, Oklahoma on December 12 and then Miami on December 19.”

With visits to UCLA on October 3 and Arkansas on October 17 already in the books, this means that LSU, Texas and Texas A&M are no longer on the list. Peterson took several unofficial visits to A&M, UT and one to LSU, but told Eudey that he just felt more comfortable with the other schools on his list.
“He’s pleased with his final five,” Eudey said. “They’re all going to be a great fit for him.”
Oklahoma remains the top team on the list, Eudey said, but Peterson told him he’s going to give all of the teams a fair shot with in-home visits and long talks with the coaches before he makes a decision.
For those interested in seeing the top back in the nation in action, this week is a perfect opportunity and which could lead to an even bigger opportunity. Peterson and his Palestine teammates will face Halldale at 7:30 p.m. Friday night at Rose Stadium in Tyler, Texas.
If his team wins, it would likely face four-star quarterback and Texas Tech bound Graham Harrell in the second round. If that match-up occurs the game would likely be played at Texas Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
