You may not have heard much about Max Issaka up to this point in the recruiting process but the talented junior may be one of New Jersey's finest Class of 2011 talents.
At 6-foot-2 and 228-pounds, Issaka does just about everything for Woodbridge. He lines up at defensive end and tight end, and he has the ability to play wide receiver. On special teams he punts and kicks, so to say he's indispensable would be an understatement.
"On offense I block well as a tight end, and on the release for the seam I go real fast. I've got a good get off," Issaka said. "On defense I have a nice burst of energy. I'll go through anybody with reckless abandon. I've got a knack for making plays. I have good instincts and I play real smart."
Issaka holds an offer from one Big East school and more could be on the way.
"I just got an offer from Rutgers," he said. "I've talking to a couple of teams like Central Florida and Miami. I got a questionnaire from the University of Florida. In the Big East it's basically Rutgers, UConn, Pittsburgh ... the list goes on."
Issaka is very familiar with what the Scarlet Knights have to offer. He said he has visited Rutgers six or seven times. He was supposed to go to a recent junior day but did not make that trip.
"I don't know what I'm going to base everything on yet, so I can't say I have any favorites."
