"I didn't go to any camps or take any visits in July. I was busy with AAU basketball. This fall I definitely want to check out South Carolina, Florida, Florida State and Miami. I don't have any favorites at this time."
The only camp Ford attended this summer was at the University of Miami. He talked of his interest in the Hurricanes.
"I love the program," he said. "They have nice facilities. I like their classrooms. Their academics are really good."
'The Big Three' have not offered scholarships at this time, but showing a lot of interest early in the recruiting process.
"Florida is one of the schools I grew up liking," Ford said. "I grew up liking them and Florida State which is kind of odd. It's close to home. My family can come to all the games.
"Florida State is my dad's favorite school. It's right in our backyard. My family can make all the home games. I keep in touch with the coaches all the time."
Ford also talked about his interest in South Carolina.
"South Carolina was my first big offer," he said. "It was kind of special to me. They are in the SEC. Coach Spurrier does a fantastic job. It's a family-type program."
