Orange (Cal.) Lutheran athlete Anthony Vernaglia committed to Notre Dame back in the summer, but has since been rumored to be having second thoughts. Is he still looking around?

"No, I'm solid to Notre Dame," said the 6-foot-4, 218-pounder who will play either linebacker or safety for the Irish. "I'll admit I was thinking about Virginia and USC, but coach Willingham came in on Monday night and we talked. I am as solid to Notre Dame as I ever have been."
Vernaglia chose Notre Dame over offers from Virginia, USC, Penn State (where his dad played football), Arizona State, UCLA and many others.
"Notre Dame is the right fit for me academically and athletically," he said. "I can't ask for a better opportunity."
