The Latest: Class of 2017 three-star athlete Deon Jackson has seen his recruitment explode in recent months with his offer list going from zero to more than 20 very quickly. But with so many options on the table, Jackson has already started to narrow his list. Schools like Duke and Maryland appear to be in the best position but there could be a new contender at play -- Georgia. The Bulldogs are chasing some of the nation's top running backs but an impressive workout by Jackson at a recent satellite camp clearly caught the eye of running backs coach Del Mcgee and now it appears an offer could be on the way. As Jackson waits to hear the official word, it's clear Georgia has his attention.

In His Words:

"Coach Mcgee told me that he thinks I'm worthy of an offer but he has to present it to the rest of the staff and see what they think. Until they officially do I'll just keep looking at the schools that have offered. It would mean a lot to get the Georgia offer. I have a lot of pressure at my school from guys like [Georgia wide receiver commit] Trey Blount. He wants me, [four-star offensive linemen] Andrew Thomas and Jamaree Salyer to go to Georgia with him. A Georgia offer would put some schools further down in consideration but Duke will remain really high even if Georgia offers."

Rivals Reaction: It appears Jackson is close to committing so Georgia doesn't have much time to waste if they want to jump in the mix. Other top backs like Cam Akers, D'Andre Swift and Najee Harris are high on Georgia's board, but in a year where the school will likely take two backs, Jackson could be a viable option.
