Is there a threat to Georgia for Cheney?

Rashad Cheney committed to Georgia when he was a sophomore back in February, just a couple of weeks after signing day 2017.

That commitment has not slowed other schools down. A number of schools have offered the four-star defensive lineman out of Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove since he committed to Georgia and he recently took in games at South Carolina and Tennessee.

He said not to read too much into those visits.

"I am still 100-percent committed to Georgia," said Cheney. "When I was a little kid, I always wanted to play for Georgia. That was my dream school and I am still excited about it.

"I am still going to enjoy the process and take some visits, but I am solid to Georgia."

Right around the time Cheney committed to Georgia, Kirby Smart brought in Tray Scott as his new defensive line coach.

The two have hit it off.

"Coach Scott is a cool guy with a lot of energy. We talk a lot and he gave me the heads up on how Georgia was going to do this year.

"When we were talking over the summer, he would always talk about how they are grinding, how they are working to do big things and he was right. I am not surprised on how Georgia is playing this season at all.

"Coach Scott has the defensive line playing well, the whole team is doing great and and I am excited about the future."

The Gamecocks have been rumored to be that next school in line for Cheney, but he said really isn't a next school right now.

"There is no threat to Georgia," said Cheney. "South Carolina is probably the school recruiting me hardest outside of Georgia, but I am all Georgia right now.

"Georgia makes me feel right at home each time I am there. I already feel like part of the team."
