Is there a leader for DeMathas Rivers

Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha is loaded with talent in the 2008 class. One of those prospects to watch is 6-foot-2, 245-pound defensive end Nick Rivers who is already receiving interest from a handful of colleges.
"I'm getting looks from Maryland, Duke, Virginia and a few others," he said. "So far I've only visited Maryland a couple months ago. When I was up there I met coach Friedgen and the defensive coordinator. It was nice and all the coaches were really great. I can say I'm definitely favoring Maryland because I grew up watching them."

Though the Terrapins have an early edge, Rivers is by no means closing himself off and went on to discuss what he wants out of a college.
"I'm definitely looking for a competitive team," he said. "I don't want to play for a team that is getting crushed time after time. I am looking for good academics too and then location isn't a big factor, but it would be nice to be closer to home."
Rivers posted 40 tackles and five sacks as a junior on his way to all-state honors.
