Many expected Chesapeake (Va.) Deep Creek defensive end Darryl Tapp to end the recruiting process this weekend in Blacksburg, Va. So did he?
"No, I'm still not committed," the 6-foot-2, 225-pounder said. "It's still between Virginia Tech and Maryland."
So how was Blacksburg?
"It was very cool," he said. "I still like the Maryland campus better, but I had a great time at Tech. Michael Vick showed up and we all hung out at a birthday party for Jarrett Ferguson. It was a wild time."
The basic difference between the two schools for Tapp seems to be familiarity.
"I know exactly what I'm getting at Tech because they're recruiting me as a defensive end," he said. "Maryland is recruiting me as an outside linebacker which is new but also a little exciting. I'll probably announce this week."
