Is Morelli a Panther

Pittsburgh (Pa.) Penn Hills quarterback Anthony Morelli was rumored to have committed to Pitt this morning. Is it true?
"Yes it's true, that's what coach (Neil) Gordon told me this morning," said a source in the Penn Hills athletic department, who insisted on remaining anonymous. "Anthony committed to Pitt last night I think."

Morelli, the nation's No. 2 pro-style quarterback as ranked by Rivals.com, had more than 45 offers. He had his choices narrowed down to Pitt and Notre Dame and was supposed to visit South Bend, Ind. this weekend. That trip has apparently been cancelled.
"Pitt is close to home and it's a program where I feel very comfortable," said Morelli a few weeks back. "The entire staff was recruiting me hard and make me feel like I was their No. target."
The 6-foot-4, 208-pounder is the second big-time quarterback to commit to the Panthers in three years. Back in 2002, West Alleghany, Pa. signal-caller Tyler Palko was ranked as the No. 8 dual-threat quarterback in the nation by Rivals.com.
"Competition is going to be everywhere," said Morelli. "I've seen Tyler play so I know what to expect."
As a junior, Morelli threw for 1,880 yards and 20 scores. He is ranked as the No. 10 player on our initial Rivals100.
