Is Mike Moore the hottest name in Florida

Over the last week there may not have been a hotter item among college coaches than Coconut Grove (Fla.) North Broward wide receiver Mike Moore. Moore has picked up nearly a dozen offers in the last 10 days.
“Just in the last ten days I have gotten offers from Clemson, Wake Forest, Boston College, Minnesota, South Florida, Kansas, Florida International, Bowling Green, Kentucky, Tennessee and Pittsburgh,” said Moore.

The 6-foot-2.5, 187-pound Moore previously had offers from Auburn, Notre Dame and Central Florida.
“Michigan is also close to offering. I just have to send them my highlight tape so their coaches can approve it. Miami told me that I am next in line for an offer on their board. They are waiting to see what Fred Rouse and Derrick Williams are going to do.
They told me that they think that Fred Rouse was probably going to go to Florida State, but they just wanted to see how things went with him. They told me that if I came to camp this summer and did really well that I may earn an offer there.”
Moore attended the NIKE camp in Miami where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds. He had a 3.97 second shuttle, managed 18 reps on the bench press and had vertical leap of 32.2 inches.
“Right now my top three are the big three Florida schools. After them I like Tennessee, South Florida, Auburn, Pitt and Kentucky. Kentucky told me that I was the No. 1 prospect on their board period and that made me feel real good. Kansas told me that I was the No. 1 wide receiver on their board.”
Moore was first-team All-County by both the Sun-Sentinel and Miami Herald and second-team Class 2B All-State.
“There are two other teams that I am really interested in that, if they offered, could really move up high on my list. Those two schools are Georgia and NC State. I plan on visiting both of them this summer. The defensive coordinator from Georgia came by and watched my film and wanted to offer, but since he was the defensive coordinator he wanted the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach to watch it first.”
As a junior Moore caught 42 passes for 850 yards and 16 touchdowns. On defense, he was equally impressive where he racked up 35 tackles and six interceptions. He also returned two punts for touchdowns.
“Right now I would say Miami stands out the most because of their work ethic, I just love the way they operate. Florida is probably at No. 2 right now because they have really been showing me a lot of interest lately with a phone call and handwritten letters. I haven’t been hearing as much from Florida State lately, but I still like them a lot.”
Moore plans to visit Tennessee, Auburn, Kentucky, Georgia and NC State over the summer.
