Is Louisiana DLs future on offense

BATON ROUGE, La. - One prospect that has recently popped up on the recruiting radar is Baton Rouge (La.) Scotlandville offensive/defensive lineman Daverin Geralds. He is one of the top academic students around and his offer list shows that.
"I have offers from Duke, Stanford and Ole Miss," Geralds said. "Georgia Tech is about to offer I think. They told me that if I would put them in my top five that they would offer me. LSU is recruiting me pretty hard as well as some other schools. Obviously Southern is recruiting me, my dad is the defensive line coach there."

The 6-foot-2, 285-pound Geralds and runs the 40-yard dash in 5.25 seconds.
"On offense I'm really good at run blocking and a good pass protector," Geralds said. "I can play both sides of the ball. I prefer to play on the defensive side of the ball because of my size. I do a really good job of staying in the gap and closing off the line on the defensive side of the ball."
Though Geralds prefers to play on the defensive line in college and Stanford and Duke want him there, some schools have a different plan for he fits in.
"Ole Miss wants me at center," Geralds said. "I met the center there now and we are about the same size. They compare me a lot to him. I really like Coach O a lot. He seems like he wants me up there bad. He's always telling me he will cook for me and all kinds of stuff if I will come play for him."
Geralds is ranked as the No. 35 player in the state of Louisiana by Rivals.com.
"I'm not really leaning anywhere right now," Geralds said. "I have a lot of interest in the schools that have offered and Georgia Tech too. I really like Georgia Tech and I want to visit out there soon. I also like LSU because they are the hometown team and all."
