New Orleans St. Augustine receiver Akieem Jolla committed to Miami last month in one of the early recruiting surprises. So is the standout four-star receiver sticking with that pledge?
"You bet I am," Jolla said. "I'm still 100 percent committed to Miami. LSU and a few others call, but I think they've gotten the idea that I'm going to stick with my pledge."
And what a big one it is for the Canes. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Jolla is one of the best in the South and he had offers from Georgia Tech, Clemson, LSU and Florida to go along with the one he accepted from Miami.
"I've been watching all of their games on TV," Jolla said. "I'm glad to see them doing so good out there. That makes me feel good about my decision."
Jolla said he has a huge game this weekend against Marrero Shaw and cornerback Sammy Joseph, who is committed to Colorado.
"I've got to get the best of him," he said.
