Is Dykes back with UNC
Back in July, Pittsburgh (Pa.) Woodland Hills offensive guard Mike Dykes committed to North Carolina. As the head coaching job changed from John Bunting to Butch Davis, the 6-foot-4, 275-pounder began to look around. Is he still looking elsewhere or has he reaffirmed his pledge to the Tar Heels?

"I actually confirmed my commitment last night when coach Davis came by my house to meet with me," he said. "I had a nice long talk with him about everything. He felt like he was putting in place a program that would be perfect for me."
What did Davis say to convince Dykes to head to Chapel Hill?
"He told me that he only wants studs as he called them," he said. "He doesn't care if a player is a five-star prospect nor has a commitment elsewhere. He's got a vision to get North Carolina football on top."
The three-star prospect hopes to compete for a job as soon as he arrives on campus this summer.
"Coach Pittman told me that he wants me to come in thinking I'm going to start," he said. "I'm going to work hard for that and if the upperclassmen are better than me, I'll redshirt. I'm going to do what I can during the offseason to try to get myself ready to play as early as possible by getting bigger, stronger and faster."
