Is Campbell top recruit in NV

While the quarterbacks got most of the attention at the recent Elite 11 workout in Las Vegas, one player who came out to catch passes for us, North Las Vegas (Nev.) Cheyenne athlete D.J. Campbell also caught our eyes. Campbell definitely looks the part and was very impressive running routes and catching balls during the workout.
Campbell, 6-0, 180 pounds is a tremendous athlete who first caught our eye at the NIKE Combine in Los Angeles last March. The athlete clocked a 4.56-40, 4.25 shuttle, did 16 reps on the bench and jumped a combine 39 inches in the vertical. Campbell came back to the SoCal NIKE Camp in April and clocked a 4.54-40 and jumped 38 inches in the vertical.

We recently reviewed Campbell's junior film and there is no doubt he's a high level Div I player. The athlete had to play quarterback for Cheyenne but will likely play wide receiver or safety in college and could even play corner in some defenses.
At the Elite 11, Campbell looked the part at receiver showing his speed, quickness in and out of his breaks and didn't drop a pass that we saw. He's sitting on two offers right now and should be recruited heavily in the fall.
"Michigan and Fresno State have offered," Campbell said. "Miami is my dream school though and they're recruiting me pretty good right now. I also like Notre Dame, USC and Texas along with the schools that have offered me. I'm in no hurry to make my decision. I want to take all five of my official visits before I commit anywhere."
