Is Brewer on the verge of an offer

Matthews (N.C.) Butler has over a half dozen prospects in the 2008 recruiting class. Everyone knows about Robert Blanton, Eddie Whitley, Jacob Charest and Spencer Adams, but at least one other player may be receiving an offer in the near future in 6-foot-3, 215-pound wide receiver Mickey Brewer.
"I've been getting a lot of interest from Vanderbilt, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Auburn, Virginia, Virginia Tech, South Carolina and Florida," he said. "The main thing I'm looking for is to get a good education that'll help me get a job out of college.

"I'd say my favorites are North Carolina, Florida and Auburn. North Carolina was more for basketball; it's also an in-state school. I like Florida and Auburn a lot because they are consistently good with their offenses and I like what they do."
Besides football, Brewer is receiving interest as a centerfielder in baseball.
"Football is more for college and to help me get a job," he said. "I don't know about the draft for baseball. I didn't play last year, so I'm working to get more exposure and that may be an option."
Though he'll be busy with baseball, Brewer is considering camps at North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Auburn.
Last season he earned all-conference, all-area, all-observer and all-state after hauling in 59 receptions for 1,220 yards and 15 touchdowns.
