Irwin has five favorites early on

Trent Irwin has a top five but the Newhall (Calif.) Hart wide receiver plans to take his time with the recruiting process and not rush a decision.
The four-star standout who shined once again at the Passing Down Elite 7on7 SoCal Regional this past weekend said five programs definitely stand out but he wants to take visits, see campuses and meet with coaches before making any decisions.

Plus, more offers could easily be on the way so it sounds like Irwin wants to wait.
"My top five would be Stanford, Cal, Penn State, Arizona State and Washington," Irwin said. "I think I'm going to take my time and take visits."
USC is showing increased interest in the Newhall Hart four-star who finished with 76 receptions for 1,456 yards and 19 touchdowns in his junior season.
It still might be preliminary but Irwin said he's interested in what the coaching staff has to say moving forward.
"I'm talking to SC on Facebook and Twitter," Irwin said.
"They're just saying I have high interest on their list. They're saying to keep working and the coaching staff likes me."
As for upcoming trips, Irwin is spending time in Alabama over spring break but he doesn't plan to visit with the Crimson Tide. Patience is the key factor at this point especially since it's still relatively early in the process.
"I'm just seeing how things pan out," Irwin said. "I like a lot of the offers I have and I'm just seeing how things pan out."
