Irwin books two official visits

Trent Irwin is looking forward to a big senior season and the four-star wide receiver who had an outstanding summer is wasting little time hitting the road for official visits.
"We've been working hard for the first game and it should be fun," Irwin said.

"It's always good to get a new team and a lot of guys haven't had much playing time so getting that team together and getting everything to click will be fun."
The Newhall (Calif.) Hart standout has a top two of Arizona State and Stanford and he'll take his first trip in Week 2 when USC visits the Cardinal.
Irwin, rated as the eighth-best receiver and the No. 70 prospect in the 2015 class by Rivals.com, will travel to Arizona State in early November when Notre Dame visits. Later that month, the four-star should be ready to make his decision.
"I know I'm going to take an official to Stanford for the USC game which is coming up," Irwin said. "Then I'm going to take a visit to Arizona State for the Notre Dame.
"Those are the top two but I still might take some officials somewhere else. I need to talk to the coaches and see what happens but those are the top two."
Other trips are possibilities and Irwin said he's considering UCLA, Oregon State and Texas Tech as destinations.
Arizona State and Stanford lead but Irwin does not want to count out those other programs before he takes his other trips.
"I want to talk to the coaches, see how much they want to use me and then I can figure out my official visits," Irwin said.
