Irish pledge still hearing from others

Wichita Falls (Texas) Rider wide receiver David Nelson committed to Notre Dame near the end of July over scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Kansas State, Wisconsin, and others.
"I've had schools like Pitt, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M, stay in contact," Nelson said. "I've had phone calls. And I've had e-mails from Kansas State and Nebraska."

"I've been talking about things with other coaches. But I really don't think I'll visit anywhere else. If I did it would be towards signing day."
"You never know. If something happens, coaching changes, changes at the university, then maybe I would visit a couple schools."
"My official visit to Notre Dame is Oct. 1 for the Purdue game. I'll probably take some unofficial visits to Notre Dame too, like the senior banquet and the spring game."
The 6-foot-5 and 195 pound Nelson caught 56 passes for 1100 yards and 13 touchdowns during his junior season. Through three games of his senior season Nelson has caught 15 passes, averaged over 16 yards per catch, and scored three times.
Nelson is the No. 37 wide receiver prospect in the Rivals.com player rankings and the No. 40 overall prospect in the state of Texas.
